in Paris.
Down with affordable rides!

I can see the French fighting a war against good customer service.

Damn poor C Class.

I’d rather use a black car or a taxi than some random ass persons car.

They really hate competition.

Black cars are a huge part of Uber’s business.

Yeah, but the regular ones is what I’m referring to more.
I’ve got a guy with a Town Car who’s much cheaper than UberX or a taxi.

Then do that. That is what competetive markets are all about.

The word “Uber” has some rough German connotations for them. Plus the company is American.
Quasi-legal Minicabs have been around forever in Europe, but suddenly mobile devices make them easier and safer and everyone gets pissed. Time for the taxi service bosses and politicians to re-examine their business model.

Is it supposed to pour gas like that when upside down?

If only they’d hated Nazis and their takeover of France as much as they hate Uber, the US wouldn’t have had to come bailout their cowardly asses.*
*I’m roughly half French.

I think that is how gravity works.

The French Resistance weren’t cowardly at all.

I know that much, I thought there was a valve to prevent that for some reason. But it could be as simple as someone took off the cap just to watch the world burn.

Combining the two things the French love most; violent protest, and labor protectionism. I bet the guys who flipped the car belong to a Strikers Union.

Maybe they don’t have that safety feature/requirement in France...I don’t know.

I’m surprised they didn’t stop for a cigarette break in the middle of flipping that car...

“Affordable rides” when there is nothing going on, no demand and the distance is short... sure.

Don’t know where you are, but here in san Diego, even at peak hours it is still about half of a regular taxi.

No way. Went to a concert in NYC and was slapped with a $35 surchage fee. In hindsight I should have walked the 8 blocks or whatever it was. A cab would have been $8 at most. Google “uber surcharge horror stories”. Just because you haven’t experienced it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Might just be a NYC thing.

Given all the cases I’ve seen have been around the country I’d say no.
